First surgical hospital inaugurated in Tel Tamr in North and East Syria

TEL TAMR, Syria — Jiyan Hospital, a surgical hospital, was inaugurated in the town of Tel Tamer in the Khabur River Valley in North and East Syria. It is the first of its kind in the region to provide advanced medical services and perform delicate surgical operations.

The hospital consists of several departments, including general surgery, radiology, pediatrics, gynecological, cardiac, and a laboratory. Preparations are underway for opening an orthopedic department.

The aim of opening the hospital, as explained by the hospital director Ismail Osman, is to provide general medical services as a result of the collapsed health sector in the region and to alleviate the suffering of patients who travel to remote areas to receive treatment.

The people of the area welcomed the opening of the given the lack of medical centers in Tel Tamr its location along the current line of contact between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Turkish occupation.
