Women’s delegation from Democratic Union Party visits the Syriac Union Party in North and East Syria

ZALIN, Syria —  On Wednesday, a delegation from the Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party (Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat, PYD) visited the Women’s Office of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria.

The visiting delegation included members of the PYD Women’s Relations Office Arifa Bakr and Shadia Omar.

They were received by Head of the SUP Women’s Office, Abeer Elia, and SUP Women’s Office members Faya Ardish and Shirin al-Khoury.

They discussed developments in Syria in general and North and East Syria in particular and the need for all women from different parties and components to unite in the face of threats posed to the region.

The two sides also stressed the importance of supporting efforts of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria to reach a political solution that ends the Syrian crisis and enhances security and peace in the region.
