Syriac Union Party distributes fire extinguishers to help safeguard agricultural crops in North and East Syria
TEL TAMR, Syria — In an effort to safeguard the agricultural fields of the Syriac–Assyrian communities of the Khabur River Valley from potential agricultural fires, the Tel Tamr Branch of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) distributed fire extinguishers to select Syriac–Assyrian families in the area.
The initiative was prompted by recent incidents where agricultural crops in the village of Tel Tal were ravaged by fires of unknown origin. It is suspected that the fires were set by the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).
In collaboration with the Sutoro (Syriac Security Forces), extensive campaigns have been undertaken to protect the farmlands from arson. The Sutoro has actively engaged in security patrols and vigilant monitoring to detect any signs of arson near agricultural areas.
The Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES) has implemented comprehensive measures to shield the crops from fire hazards. This includes the establishment of Emergency Cells across all departments to ensure that farmers receive necessary assistance.
