Administration of North and East Syria congratulates Syriac and Syrian peoples on Akitu 6774
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) extended congratulations to the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and all Syrian ethnicities on the occasion of Akitu 6774, the Babylonian Syriac-Assyrian New Year.
In its statement, DAARNES emphasized that 1 April symbolizes renewal, rebirth, and change, expressing hope for the region’s rich historical diversity.

“Akitu is celebrated by various peoples in the region under different names, signifying the renewal of hope in this culturally diverse region,” read DAARNES’s statement.

DAARNES, along with its institutions, stands as a guardian of the rights of all ethnic groups, ensuring their presence on their ancestral lands with their unique cultures and languages, according to the statement.
