Syriac Cross Organization provides critical aid to displaced families in Hasakah, North and East Syria

HASAKAH, North and East Syria — Amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria, the Syriac Cross Organization for Relief and Development is delivering essential aid to displaced families in Hasakah and surrounding regions. These efforts form part of the organization’s broader emergency response plan to address the dire needs of those affected by displacement and conflict.

Over recent months, Syriac Cross has intensified its operations, reaching the displaced not only in Hasakah but also in Amuda, Darbasiyah, and Kobani. These areas have been heavily impacted by years of conflict, which have led to waves of displacement and left many families without access to basic necessities.

The aid packages distributed by the organization contain a variety of essential items, including staple food supplies, hygiene kits, and clothing. Such support is crucial in alleviating the suffering of displaced families, particularly during harsh weather conditions and amid ongoing economic challenges that exacerbate the crisis.

Commitment to Supporting Vulnerable Communities

Syriac Cross’s work reflects a steadfast commitment to providing humanitarian assistance in one of the world’s most protracted and complex crises. The organization’s focus on Syria, a region with significant displacement due to conflict involving various factions, demonstrates its dedication to addressing the needs of some of the most vulnerable communities.

In addition to immediate relief, the Syriac Cross Organization engages with local communities to foster resilience and self-reliance. By supporting both Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) communities and the broader population, the organization promotes social cohesion in a region marked by ethnic and sectarian diversity.

Their work is particularly vital for preserving the heritage and well-being of minority groups, such as the Syriacs (Arameans–Assyrians–Chaldeans), who have faced persecution and displacement during the conflict.
