NORTH and EAST SYRIA: Syriac Military Council honors Free Burma Rangers for their commitment and dedication to the region

TAL TAMR, North and East Syria – In recognition of the endless efforts made by the humanitarian non-profit organization Free Burma Rangers (FBR) in supporting the troubled peoples of North and East of Syria, amid Turkish human rights violations, the Syriac Military Council (Mawthbo Folhoyo Suryoyo, MFS) held a small ceremony honoring the FBR team.

At the Martyr Akad Marbisho Academy for military training, MFS spokesman Matai Hanna Hanna presented FBR team lead David Eubank a commemorative shield in appreciation of his team’s tireless aid work in the region. In return, Eubank thanked the members of the Syriac Military Council for their continuous support of the organization’s work in transporting the injured during Turkish attacks.

David Eubank’s wife Karen Eubank too expressed her gratitude and touched on FBR’s close cooperation with the Syriac people and praised the members of the MFS for their courage. She added that she was grateful to have been part of the rehabilitation of churches in Raqqa in cooperation with locals and to help advance freedom and safety.

MFS spokesman Matai Hanna commented to our news desk that his organization wanted to honor the Free Burma Rangers for their support to the Syriac people, among others, by helping Syriacs resettle in their villages in the Khabur, raising their morale, and for providing first aid training courses to the Syriac Military Council.

Aram Hanna, spokesman for the Syriac Democratic Forces (of which the MFS is a co-founder), stated that the Free Burma Rangers are worthy of praise for their many cooperative efforts in community building and re-developing areas liberated from terrorist groups. He expressed his firm confirmation that the cooperation of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Free Burma Rangers will continue in the future to deliver many humanitarian aid and rebuilding projects.

The Free Burma Rangers are a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement working to help free oppressed people in Burma and the Middle East.

While doing aid work in the region, FBR team member Zau Seng was killed during the October 2019 Turkish invasion of North and East Syria, while he was helping to evacuate civilians from the city of Rish Ayno (Ras al-Ayn).
