Syriac political parties in Sweden commemorate Simele Massacre, emphasize unity
VITA, Sweden — The Coordination Committee of Political Parties of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) Community in Sweden expressed their gratitude for the collaborative effort in organizing the Simele Massacre memorial event held on Sunday at 16:00.
The Committee reported that the event featured speeches from party representatives, a documentary on the Simele Massacre, and a poetry recital.
Similar commemorations took place in regions where Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people reside in their homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia), despite challenging conditions.
The participating parties underscored the importance of uniting the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and promoting their shared identity to the world.
They called on all Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people to honor the memory of the Simele martyrs and the victims of other massacres throughout their history.
