Bethnahrin National Council prepares for Silver Jubilee celebration in Germany
GERMANY — The Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo d’Bethnahrin, MUB), which has consistently organized efforts to ensure the rights of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people since its founding, has begun preparations to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of its founding. The celebration will take place in Germany on 8 June.
Invitations have been sent to various Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian political parties, politicians, and religious and cultural institutions.
The branches of the MUB, whose roots lie in the historic Tur Abdin region in southeastern Turkey, have spread across various regions of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia) and the diaspora.
The celebration will include speeches by representatives of institutions and the leadership of the MUB.
Time will also be allocated for participating parties and institutions to deliver speeches on behalf of their organizations.
Additionally, poets and writers will recite poems and reflections commemorating the 25th anniversary, and a number of artists will perform musical segments.
National figures, representatives of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) parties and institutions, regional communities, and politicians from European parties have all been invited to the celebration.
The 25 years of the MUB’s struggle have been instrumental in shaping the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people’s political vision, establishing core values, and building various institutions — including media, military forces, cultural, educational, and political bodies, among others.
The celebration will include the participation of MUB’s institutions from Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Tur Abdin, and several branches from Europe.
On this occasion, the MUB congratulated the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people on the Silver Jubilee of its founding and called for the continuation of the national struggle for freedom and the demand for their rights across all regions of Beth Nahrin.
